My name is Mairead Meade. I am 35 years old. I live in Cork in the south of Ireland. I have been writing poetry since the age of 17 but I remember writing my first poem at 12 years old. I am interested in the workings of the mind. I am fascinated by madness, philosophy, religion and magic.
I appreciate knowledge. I am more creative than academic. I like to think for myself. Most of what I have come to understand has arisen from life experiences I have endured.
For me, wisdom comes from deep thought and reflection.
I spend a lot of my time reflecting on the idea of God and a Heaven. I tend to write about Him a lot and how I have come to understand Him through my own experiences over the last 16 years.
I try to bring people towards my understanding of God as a universal being that affects us all. He is the Mind of the Universe, the Soul of the World.
I would also like to be a voice on schizophrenia. It is an illness I have suffered from but feel I have now overcome. To me it was through the medium of schizophrenia or madness that I learned most about God.
I would like to see the taboo of schizophrenia and madness understood. This is why I want to have a voice in the world. I feel I can set people straight on a few things.
I feel very close to God and I wish others could be as sure of His existence as I am, as He is an interventive, positive influence and a very supportive being.
I am a radio broadcaster as well as a poet. I have produced and presented many current affairs programmes on a radio station in Cork. Presently I am in the process of making a radio documentary on the subject of lighthouses. This will soon be up online at my website

I believe in love and destiny. I believe in the power of the individual and the freedom of speech. I hope to interview many people in the future and to continue working in radio.
